The Rationale for Design Decisions
In this section, we analyzed the rationale of each feature in our final design. In particular, we
illustrated how the key features relate to the interactive UX design concept and how they satisfy
our user needs.
The Dynamic Announcements Panel is visible now:
We added an announcement and news panel as Fig. 21 (a) so that we can keep the user updated
about major happenings regarding the university.
As myUFL is visited frequently, and there is already an implementation regarding news and
announcements in the old version home screen, we thought of improving the form factor and
adding color cues and visual aid (pictures) to the news to make it more affordable. Added
conventional used icons (cues) so that important announcements can be distinguished. We
simplified the format of news, only providing titles and pictures as a concise abstract to avoid
overwhelming. Items can be clickable to redirect them to the news-specific link to know more.
People are now less likely to miss out on important announcements and news regarding UF.
