MyUFL Final NEW_merged
Create successful ePaper yourself
Turn your PDF publications into a flip-book with our unique Google optimized e-Paper software.
(In the old version, a user might have to > click on the main menu icon from a bunch of icons>
navigate on open-ended named buttons > then find their service every time!).
Widgets representing frequently-used services, provide quicker access:
Now, myUFL has Widgets (metaphorically, inspired by sticky notes on a whiteboard) shown in Fig.
22 (a). Widgets can be pinned to the home screen to customize according to one’s needs and stay
in touch with the most important info.
We concluded that users visit myUFL for different purposes. Hence, widgets add customization to
the home screen and help a user to stay in touch with all the status updates regarding his/her
concerned services in an instant. Widgets can have shortcut buttons. Types of widgets one can
add: Time Reported, Latest pay, Training Status, etc. In addition, we kept the idea from our
brainstorming solution that the cursor will change to a conventional “point-up” icon when the
mouse is moved to the widget. This will give feedback to the user indicating where to click.
Adding to the effectiveness and personalization that our interviewees wanted, one can monitor
the hours, payscale range, etc from the widgets themselves.

The Name and Greeting provide feedback for login status:
A nice greeting along with the login status of the user and his profile picture can give an essence of
personalization and a friendly experience. The greeting is also feedback to let the user know that
they are logged in.
