Jabatan PERHILITAN dengan kerjasama ASEAN-WEN telah menganjurkan program Wildlife Forensics Training
Workshop pada 2 hingga 6 Ogos 2010 di Ibu Pejabat Jabatan PERHILITAN dan dirasmikan oleh Y.Bhg. Dato’
Abd. Rasid bin Samsudin. Bengkel ini bertujuan memberi pendedahan kepada peserta mengenai kaedah-kaedah
forensik yang digunakan dalam penyiasatan kes penyeludupan hidupan liar. Peserta terdiri daripada pegawai/
wakil dari negara-negara ASEAN seperti Thailand, Filipina, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia dan Singapura. Bidang
yang dipelajari sepanjang kursus ini adalah identifikasi spesies, pengumpulan sampel dan rantaian bahan bukti
dan tatacara menggunakan bukti semasa pendakwaan.
Wildlife Forensics Training Workshop was organized by DWNP with the collaboration of ASEAN-WEN on 2 nd to 6 th
August 2010 at DWNP Headquarter and it was officiated by Y.Bhg. Dato’ Abd. Rasid bin Samsudin. The workshop
was held to expose to the participants on the forensic methods used in wildlife crime investigation. The participants
included officers/ representatives from ASEAN countries such as Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar,
Malaysia and Singapore. Species identification, sample collection, the chain of custody and procedure to use
evidence during prosecution were among the fields learnt in the programme.
