preda della peste.

persone e falcidiò il clero che si prodigava
nell’assistenza ai malati. Nella situazione
di emergenza, il vescovo di Napoli
chiese aiuto a chi poteva, e dunque
anche al priore della Certosa di San
Giacomo che per tutta risposta, e con la
scusa delle ferree regole della clausura,
si chiuse dentro con i suoi frati per settimane
e settimane. Fu tale l’indignazione
