Stage 1, the hull Fig. 1 - The boatstand 0.1 is supplied as a ready-made vacuummoulded item. We recommend that you glue a plywood floor plate 0.2 inside it to stiffen the moulding; dimensions: 5 x 275 x 464 mm. Fig. 2 - The domed section at the stern of the hull 1.1 should be removed completely; sand the cut edges smooth. Fig. 3 - The component parts of the keel. - Note: the three-part keel is assembled from two outer layers (3 mm thick) and one centre layer (1.5 mm thick). The prepared keel components are subsequently glued together inside the hull. Fig. 4 - The example in the picture shows the rear keel components 1.2 and 1.3. - We recommend that you make a jig for gluing the keel parts together; this consists of a wooden board and several nails, as shown in the photo. The jig ensures that the laminated components are joined with their edges flush. Fig. 5 - Laminate the keel components using cyano. Fig. 6 - The prepared, laminated keel components. Fig. 7 Assembly and operating instructions Le Courageux - Place the keel components 1.2 - 1.7 in the hull, and trim them to fit if necessary. Don’t glue them in place at this stage. Fig. 8 - Mark a line on both sides of the rear keel component 1.2, 1.3 where it meets the outside edge of the hull. The projecting part forms the rudder spigot; do not apply glue to this area. Fig. 9 Use Stabilit-Express for this stage. - Apply adhesive to the joint surfaces of the rear keel component 1.2, 1.3, place the part in the hull and clamp it in place as shown. Fig. 10 - Glue the central keel component 1.4, 1.5 in place as shown. Fig. 11 - Glue the front keel component 1.6, 1.7 in the hull. Fig. 12 - The component parts 1.8 - 1.10 of the transom. Figs. 13 and 14 - Laminate parts 1.8 - 1.10 to form the transom as shown, using cyano. Take care to keep the edges flush. 5 Fig. 15 No. 1025 - Trim the edges of the prepared transom to fit snugly in the hull; it must be at right-angles to the hull centreline. Tape it in place. Fig. 16 - Apply Stabilit-Express to the joint between the transom 1.8 - 1.10 and the hull, taking care to produce a watertight joint all round. Fig. 17 - The stern bulkhead 1.11 and the support bulkhead 1.12. Fig. 18 - Trim the bulkheads 1.11 and 1.12 to fit, position them carefully and fix them in the hull using cyano. Fig. 19 - The motor bulkhead 1.13, the battery bulkhead 1.14 and the stern tube bulkhead 1.15, with the support strips 1.16 and the retaining strips 1.17. Fig. 20 - Place the bulkheads 1.13, 1.14 in the hull together with the support strips 1.16; do not glue them at this stage. Fig. 21 - Place the stern tube bulkhead 1.15 in the hull. Fig. 22 - Place the retaining strips 1.17 in position.
