Nasce “Cruise Forward”

nuovo progetto di comunicazione
globale di Cruise
Lines International Association (CLIA)
destinato a raccogliere i diversi contributi
prodotti dal settore delle crociere a
livello mondiale e coinvolgere e sensibilizzare
gli stakeholders del comparto.
Oltre a rappresentare una straordinaria
esperienza di viaggio, cultura e
intrattenimento, l’industria crocieristica
contribuisce significativamente alla sviluppo
economico, agli scambi culturali,
al sostegno di programmi e iniziative a
tutela dell’ambiente e delle comunità in
cui opera.
Con “Cruise Forward” il settore delle
crociere vuole evidenziare quanto fatto
in termini di:
Benefici economici – ricordando
che il settore ha generato un contributo
economico pari a circa 100 miliardi di
dollari e più di 753.000 posti di lavoro
in tutto il mondo nel solo 2011.
Sostegno alle comunità locali –
dove la presenza dell’industria crocieristica
fa la differenza in centinaia di porti,
fornendo sostegno economico a enti
di beneficenza locali, ad associazioni
per la tutela del patrimonio culturale e
coinvolgendo equipaggio e ospiti in numerose
occasioni di volontariato.

CRUISE FORWARD
Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has announced
the launch of ‘Cruise Forward’ a new industrywide
communications initiative that will promote awareness
of cruising’s wide-ranging contributions and engage
stakeholders across the global cruise industry.
The global cruise industry offers more than a great travel
and entertainment experience. The industry brings economic
development, cultural exchange, support of community
and environmental programs and initiatives, and
a commitment to preserving and protecting communities
and waterways. ‘Cruise Forward’ showcases how the industry
is:
Delivering significant economic benefits: the cruise industry
generated nearly $100 billion in economic impact
and more than 753,000 jobs worldwide in 2011.
Safeguarding the oceans and the environment: Cruise
lines are actively working to reduce the overall environmental
impact of cruising and preserve and protect our
pristine oceans, beaches and ports.
‘Cruise Forward’ will serve as a global platform for representatives
from the cruise industry to engage industry
stakeholders – customers, employees, business partners,
port communities, policymakers and the media
– across social media and at industry and community
events to foster a global discussion about the benefits
that cruising brings to individuals and to society.
CLIA will increase its presence in Europe by creating a
single body to represent 9 cruise industry associations.
The Dutch Cruise Council which represents 16 companies
has decided to become part of CLIA calling itself
CLIA Netherlands and joins CLIA UK and Ireland in the
organisation. French operators have also agreed to the
formation of CLIA France. CLIA is also arranging for the
formation of CLIA Germany.
