standard caraibici. Rispetto ai player
leader nel mercato del Mediterraneo,
MSC e Costa, l’offerta di Royal Caribbean
è stata caratterizzata da navi
grandi e ricche di servizi, realizzate
per il pubblico americano. Sette anni
fa, quando il gruppo americano decise
di aprirsi al Mediterraneo, guardava
all’Europa prevalentemente
come area di destinazione portando
croceristi provenienti dai mercati Usa
e dei Paesi anglosassoni, dove il suo
posizionamento è elevato. Negli ultimi
In Italia,
con sede a Genova, Royal Caribbean
gestisce tre marchi: Royal Caribbean
International, Celebrity Cruises e Azamara
Club Cruises. Nella stagione
2013, per le tre flotte i porti d’imbarco
in Italia sono cinque e sedici quelli di
scalo. Il primo porto di scalo rimane
Civitavecchia, seguito da Venezia,
Livorno, Napoli, Messina e Genova. I
nuovi scali, rispetto al 2012, sono Taormina,
Santa Margherita e Olbia ma
aumentano rispetto all’anno passato
quelli su Venezia, Genova, Ravenna,
Portoferraio, Portovenere e La Spezia.
Le unità in partenza dal nostro
Paese sono otto: quattro di Royal
Caribbean, due di Celebrity Cruises e
le due navi della flotta Azamara Club
Cruises. I passeggeri movimentati, in
totale, per il 2013 supereranno invece
il milione e mezzo. Per quanto riguarda
il mercato italiano se nel 2010
i crocieristi italiani erano 25.000 ora
questo numero è cresciuto in maniera
esponenziale.
Cresce per questo l’attenzione che
Royal Caribbean ha nei confronti degli
ospiti italiani ai quali offre uno staff
dedicato a bordo, durante le escursioni,
nel servizio ai ponti per le cabine,
nei ristoranti. Con la Legend of the
Seas, appena rinnovata, in partenza
da Genova e Civitavecchia, e grazie
alle crociere tematiche previste dal
nuovo catalogo, sta lievitando il numero
dei crocieristi. Quattro sono le
crociere tematiche che Royal Caribbean
propone per il 2013: la Crociera
del Tango a bordo di Legend of the
Seas e la Crociera Nerazzurra a bordo
di Navigator of the Seas, oppure
pacchetti ideali per famiglie, come
Learn with Fun per imparare l’inglese
divertendosi e la Barbie Premium Experience
per le piccole fan della bambola
più famosa del mondo.
Cosa differenzia Royal Caribbean
its Genoa office; Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity
Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises and in 2013 will
embark passengers in 6 Italian ports (Civitavecchia, Venice,
Livorno, Naples, Messina and Genoa) and call at 16
including, for the first time, Taormina, Santa Margherita
and Olbia. Royal Caribbean will operate 4 vessels, Celebrity
Cruises 2 and Azmara Club 2 from Italy with an
expected 1,5 million passengers.
Royal Caribbean now pays special attention to Italian
passengers with dedicated staff on board and with the
excursions. Theme cruises are increased with the renovated
Legend of the Seas offering the Tango Cruise and
Navigator of the Seas with Learn with Fun and the Barbie
Premium Experience.
Royal Caribbean vessels are different with spacious public
areas and numerous recreational activities including
golf and rock climbing. Service is international without
language or cultural barriers which attracts many different
types of cruise passengers especially young active
international people. Royal Caribbean’s prices are in
line with the competition although in conformity with US
practice drinks and tips are included.
1% of Italians take cruises compared with 5% in the USA
with new market opportunities developing in Brazil, China
and India. Obviously ships are able to follow demand,
for example Voyager of the Seas has moved its home
port from Venice to China.
Italy is a growing market in which clients tend to remain
brand faithful to their first cruise company. New itineraries
are an important attraction.
