-Frequently the great dates of the history of art<br />
are the dates of the big provocations. The<br />
urinary of Marcel Duchamp in a New York<br />
exhibition, "The Rite of Spring" by Stravinky in<br />
Paris, "Viridiana" by Bunuel in the Cannes<br />
Festival. But, at the end, the real artworks leave<br />
a space to reflection that goes beyond<br />
circumstances:is the case of the paintings by<br />
Felice Beltramelli. Artist of a precise<br />
Felice Beltramelli<br />
design and harmonic colors, he offers us a world<br />
full of women, but not ideal or idealized women.<br />
His women are proud and powerful, daughters of<br />
the mass-media and publicity. And not just adult<br />
women: the children -future consumistic<br />
entities- wait their protagonic moment, and in<br />
the meantime they see and wait. The feminine<br />
presence arrives to the social message: the hills<br />
from the African earth become breasts, over<br />
which a child jumps looking for freedom and<br />
justice. It is not the inviting female charm of<br />

Modigliani, it's more alike the shocking nuns of Clovis<br />
Trouille or certain works by Max Ernst or Dalì .Felice<br />
Beltramelli insists with great strenght on polemic and<br />
dense paintings: "Gott mit uns: God triumphs over the<br />
power of Hate with the power of Love" gives us an<br />
unusual version of the Holy Supper with unexpected<br />
characters as Mussolini, Hitler, Bin Laden or Che<br />
Guevara. But, finally, we keep in our minds not just the<br />
technical ability of the artist, but also a reflection about<br />
our world and our history.The great artwoks leave an<br />
unforgettable sign; Felice Beltramelli's provocatory and<br />
meaningful paintings not just show, they say.With<br />
