Macro<br />

Use this setting to capture beautiful close-up images of small subjects such as insects or flowers.<br />

1 Lower the lens cover to switch to shooting mode.<br />

Depending on the REC mode, this is set using buttons<br />

displayed on the left side of the screen.<br />

(Auto)<br />

Focus)<br />

The camera adjusts the focus automatically from distant subjects to<br />

close-up.<br />

Use this mode to shoot at close distances.<br />

Locked to the W side: Approximately 1 cm to 20 cm (13/32 inches<br />

to 7 7/8 inches)<br />

Notes<br />

• [Macro] is set to [Auto] in the following situations:<br />

– In Intelligent Sweep Panorama mode<br />

– In Su<strong>per</strong>ior Auto Adjustment mode<br />

– In Background Defocus mode<br />

– In 3D shooting mode<br />

– In Underwater iSweep Panorama mode<br />

– In Movie Mode<br />

– When the Smile Shutter function is activated<br />

–In Easy Mode<br />

– When [Self-Timer] is set to [Self-portrait One Person] or [Self-portrait Two People]<br />

• Note the following points when using the Close focus mode.<br />

– You cannot use the Scene Recognition or Face Detection functions.<br />

– This mode is cancelled if you turn off the power or switch the shooting mode to another one.<br />

– The flash mode settings you can use in this mode are [On] or [Off] only.<br />

– The focus speed becomes slower.<br />
