Notes<br />

• The Scene Recognition function does not o<strong>per</strong>ate when you shoot images using Digital Zoom.<br />

• [Scene Recognition] is set to [Auto] in the following situations:<br />

– In Su<strong>per</strong>ior Auto Adjustment mode<br />

– In Easy mode<br />

– When the Smile Shutter function is activated<br />

– When [Self-Timer] is set to [Self-portrait One Person] or [Self-portrait Two People]<br />

– During burst shooting<br />

• (Portrait), (Twilight Portrait) or (Backlight Portrait) are not recognized in the following<br />

situations:<br />

– In Tracking Focus mode<br />

– When [Face Detection] is set to [When touched]<br />

• The available flash settings are [Auto] and [Off].<br />

• (Twilight using a tripod) scenes sometimes cannot be recognized in an environment where vibrations<br />

are transferred to the camera even though it is fixed on a tripod.<br />

• Sometimes a slow shutter results when a scene is recognized as a (Twilight using a tripod). Keep the<br />

camera still during shooting.<br />

• The Scene Recognition icon appears regardless of the [Display Settings].<br />

• These scenes may not be recognized depending on the situation.<br />

zShooting two images with different settings and<br />

selecting the one you like (Advanced mode)<br />

In [Advanced] mode, the camera shoots two images consecutively with the settings<br />

differing as follows when it recognizes (Twilight), (Twilight Portrait), (Twilight<br />

using a tripod), (Backlight) or (Backlight Portrait) scenes, which tends to blur.<br />

You can select the desired image from the two images shot.<br />

zWhat is the Anti Blink function?<br />

When set to [Advanced], the camera automatically shoots two images consecutively* when<br />

it recognizes (Portrait). The camera will select, display, and record the image which the<br />

eyes are not blinked automatically. If the eyes are closed in both images, the message<br />

“Blinked eye detected” is displayed.<br />
