Scar project of photographer, J. Henry Fair, featuring such
rich tonalities as teal, moss, pink, azure, red, burnt orange
and burgundy. The collection embraces with intellectual
integrity and honesty a sustainable philosophy, featuring
the use of recycled fabrics.
The intimate apparel collection has also been inspired
by scars, but this time, focusing on those endured by the
body, in an attempt to highlight and never conceal them.
Garments in leather and tulle subtly contour themselves
to the feminine silhouette, fitting like an alluring second
skin, while seams and embroidery work, recalling sutures,
and the flesh-tone color palette further expand upon and
reinforce the concept. The bold insets of gold-tone leather,
on the other hand, recall the ancient Japanese art of kintsukuroi,
which made use of liquid gold or lacquer which has
been dusted with powdered gold in order to bond together
the fragments of broken ceramic objects.
The lesson here is that imperfection can give rise to
luxurious objects in terms of unique flair and aesthetic
panache. Plus, all the bras in the collection boast one or
two pearls on the point of the cup, by way of providing a
luxurious nipple replacement while paying homage to the
women who have undergone a mastectomy, reminding the
world that a surgical procedure doesn’t have to automatically
lead to a loss of femininity.
to promising young talents: The Link. These two young talents
brand, the perfect outlet for their quirky creative energy.
The collection dwells of the theme of the Earth’s “wounds”,
both those of natural origin, a result of the planet’s morphology,
and those caused by pollution. Elaborate textures,
embroidery work and application evoke various terrestrial
surfaces, while the lines and layering bring to mind its scars
and the waters fouled by human activity.
The chromatic palette draws inspiration from the Industrial
FRANCESCA MISSAGLIA
Francesca Missaglia, 23 years of age, was born and raised in
Lecco. At home, thanks primarily to her mother, she always
benefitted from an atmosphere of attention and sensitivity
regarding art and culture in all their manifestations, prompting
her to attend the artistic Medardo Rosso Lyceum (high
school) in her city. As soon as she finished high school she few
off to London and remained in Wimbledon just over a year,
working as an au pair girl and studying English, obtaining the
Cambridge Advanced English certificate and achieving very
good grades. Living far from home and breathing in a new and
stimulating atmosphere only confirmed her innate passion for
fashion, which was destined to become her future path: she
enrolled in the Moda Burgo Institute of Milan, which she started
attending as soon as she had returned to Italy.
In June of 2016 she participated in the Milano Moda
Graduate fashion show and this initial experience helped
her to grow professionally and face future professional challenges
with renewed courage. In November of 2017 she was
invited to Cannes in order to participate in the finale of The
