precedente.
mondiali soprattutto statunitensi.
La media delle quotazioni della CO2 dei primi
quattro mesi del 2023 è stata pari a 82,75 €/
ton che, rispetto allo stesso periodo dell’anno
precedente pari a 87,42 €/ton, rappresenta
avvio d’anno all’insegna della stabilità, i timori
After climbing at the beginning of 2023, the
prices of CO2 emission rights significantly
bucked historical trends for this period during
the month of April, which were generally
bullish due to the approach of the technical
deadline at the end of April for the cancellation
of rights for the previous year. Close to
all-time highs in February, prices returned
below €90/tonne, influenced by fears of a
slowdown in macroeconomic growth, on the
back of the deterioration of world stock markets,
especially the US.
The average CO2 price for the first four
months of 2023 was €82.75/tonne, which,
compared to the €87.42/tonne in the same
period of the previous year is a drop of 6%
(Fig. 3).
Compared to those of other energy commodities,
the price of oil follows the global economy
trend more closely: after a stable start
to the year, fears of a recessionary phase
gained the upper hand, especially following
the bankruptcy of two US banks in March
and the rate hike policies adopted by several
central banks in an attempt to limit inflation.
OPEC+’s subsequent decision to cut production
as of May gave prices some breathing
space, but global growth data in the latter
part of April reversed this once again.
