Manutenzione predittiva:
The role of the IIoT
Il nuovo paradigma del mondo Industry 4.0
prevede la possibilità di pagare un macchinario
per “ore di servizio” o per la quantità di
materiale prodotto, e allo stesso tempo sottoscrivere
un servizio di assistenza da remoto
che, grazie alla manutenzione predittiva, consenta
di ridurre al minimo il fermo macchina,
migliorando qualità e sicurezza degli addetti
durante gli interventi. Le tecnologie IIoT abilitano
controlli di stato operativi, anticipando i
problemi e consentendo, grazie agli analytics
I dispositivi
IIoT interconnessi permettono la rilevazione
dello stato delle apparecchiature e mediante
software analytics è possibile creare modelli
di simulazione per capire quando e perché
avverrà il guasto. La trasformazione dei dati
in conoscenza permette ai responsabili di incrementare
l’efficienza operativa, migliorare
quella energetica con un diretto riflesso su
sostenibilità e credibilità dell’azienda. L’atti-
The new paradigm of the Industry 4.0 world
envisages the possibility of paying for a machine
by ‘hours of service’ or by the quantity of
material produced, and at the same time subscribing
to a remote maintenance service that,
thanks to predictive maintenance, allows machine
downtime to be reduced to a minimum,
improving quality and worker safety during
interventions. IIoT technologies enable operational
status checks, anticipating problems and
making it possible, thanks to analytics on the
data collected, to optimise maintenance costs
with high savings of up to a tenth of those incurred
by more traditional intervention.
Let’s consider a critical area such as power
supply in the industrial field, which involves risks
to people and equipment. Any operational inefficiency
can lead to the stoppage of an entire
production line with downtime and loss of
business (orders, quality, reputation) that are
often difficult to calculate. Interconnected IIoT
devices enable monitoring of equipment status
and analytics software can be used to create
simulation models to understand when and
why failure will occur. Turning data into knowledge
allows managers to increase operational
efficiency and improve energy efficiency with
direct effects on sustainability and company
credibility. Enabling predictive maintenance
activities allows focus to be concentrated on
the core activity, innovation and therefore
business.
