Design life of 30 years is required. Replaceable elements, such as seals, must have a design life of at<br />
least 10 years. Lifetimes and repair intervals assessed from expert judgement are given in table 1.<br />
For bituminous joints a lifetime equal to the pavement is required; this ranges from 10 years for heavily<br />
used (right) lanes to 15-17 years for other lanes.<br />
