INNHOLD Norway’s largest commercial media house Measured in market shares, the TV 2 Group is Norway’s largest commercial media enterprise. On an average day more than 72 percent of the population makes use of one or more of our media products. The TV 2 Group’s editorial products and content services are available on two television channels, radio, the Internet, web television, broadband television, as well as on mobile phones and various information screens. Our activities include both established trademarked products and new media channels. A combination of quality, diversity and population penetration gives the TV 2 Group a unique position in the Norwegian market. We have products which ”live” 24 hours a day and therefore can provide quicker and broader coverage for our advertisers than any other actor in the market. The bulk of the Group’s turnover comes from the advertising market, but user payments generate a steadily rising share of operating revenues. The Group’s operation is focused on three business areas: television and radio, the internet and interactive media, and on business development and investment. Trough its ownership in TV 2, TV 2 Zebra and Kanal 24, the TV 2 Group is the country’s leading actor in commercial broadcasting. TV 2 is the country’s only commercial broadcaster for the general public and offers a wide range of news, current interest programmes, sports and entertainment. With a viewer share at 30 percent of the total market and 63 percent of the commercial television market, TV 2 is by far the largest commercial television channel in Norway. TV 2’s profile is youthful, innovative, fresh and brave, and the channel is well established as one of the strongest trademarks in the country. TV 2 is distributed via the analogue terrestrial net and by cable and satellite. The new channel, TV 2 Zebra, was launched in the autumn of 2005. TV 2 Zebra distributes via satellite and cable and focuses on a combination of attractive sports and entertainment. The country-wide commercial radio channel Kanal 24 started broadcasting in 2004. The activities linked to the Internet and interactive media are concentrated in the company TV 2 Interaktiv, which is Norway’s largest enterprise in this business area. TV 2 Interaktiv operates some of the country’s largest web sites and has a significant activity associated with telephony, web television and other interactive services. Norges Televisjon was the sole applicant for the digital ground transmitter network concession, and its goal is to become the leading supplier of digital television and associated services. The Group’s investment activities in related trades are implemented through its subsidiary TV 2 Invest. The TV 2 Group’s main offices are located in Bergen and the Group has approximately 770 employees.
