ABSTRACT
In the face of the favorable justifications to the participation of the history of
mathematics in the mathematics teaching, we will do a reflection about these
justifications and about the possible ways of reconstruction of this history. We will
show then a historical-philosophical reconstruction of the appearing of the non-
euclidian geometries, involving the Euclid‟s fifth postulate, like a problematic history,
showing the successful and unsuccessful attempts to solve the problem. At last we
will do a problematization about what had presented here with questioning – and
not answers – about the participation of the history in the mathematics teaching.
