Sempre quis ser atriz?<br />
Fiz balé desde pequena e como bailarina acabei participando<br />
de alguns comerciais. Na época entrei em uma agência<br />
de modelo e um dia me chamaram por engano para fazer<br />
um teste para um filme. Este foi meu primeiro trabalho como<br />
atriz, o longa Woman on Top (traduzido no Brasil como<br />
Sabor da Paixão) com a atriz Penélope Cruz. O fato de falar<br />
inglês me ajudou muito, mas nunca fiz curso. Aprendi ouvindo<br />
música e indo atrás. Depois rolou a primeira novela,<br />
porque tinham me visto no filme. A partir daí fui emendando<br />
uma na outra.<br />
Qual é o papel mais importante da sua carreira?<br />
Todos foram muito diferentes e me acrescentaram de alguma<br />
forma. Nunca fiz um personagem parecido com outro.<br />
Acredito que cada experiência foi positiva e contribuiu para<br />
o crescimento profissional, mas não considero nenhum o<br />
papel da minha vida.<br />
Atualmente está fazendo Malhação. Qual a diferença desta<br />
para a primeira vez que participou na novela há 15 anos?<br />
A malhação mudou muito. Toda a estrutura não só o elenco.<br />
É outra equipe, linguagem, equipamentos. Não considero<br />
um retorno, porque o retorno é quando volta com o mesmo<br />
personagem, e este é totalmente diferente. Estou adorando<br />
fazer uma vilã. É sempre bom para o ator.<br />
Como é construir uma vilã?<br />
É muito desafiador porque acaba tendo atitudes e fazendo<br />
coisas que não esperava. Nunca sabemos o que vai<br />
acontecer com o caráter do personagem. Se ele está sendo<br />
bonzinho porque está mudando ou se tem algo por traz. É<br />
sempre uma surpresa. E a novela é muito generosa, se faz<br />
uma cena ruim hoje e tem a chance de melhorar amanhã. É<br />
um exercício de improvisação, porque o ator vai montando<br />
o personagem cada dia um pouco.<br />
Também trabalha como apresentadora. Gosta mais de<br />
apresentar ou atuar?<br />
Desde 2002 concilio as duas profissões. Amo ambas. Tenho<br />
me dedicado como apresentadora porque percebo que tenho<br />
mais autonomia. Escolho os meus programas, escrevo os<br />
textos, enfim tenho mais liberdade que na novela que já tem<br />
um roteiro pronto. Mas cada um me acrescenta de alguma<br />
forma. Como apresentadora acumulei os meus melhores valores<br />
como ser humano pela quantidade de viagens que fiz,<br />
de povos diferentes que conheci e de experiências que vivi.<br />
Como atriz acabo vivenciando essas pessoas que conheço.<br />
É um desafio de emoções, controle e sentimentos. Ser atriz<br />
é se conhecer muito em termos de emoção, de controlar e<br />
saber colocar dentro de você vários sentimentos que na vida<br />
a gente só tem em determinadas situações. É uma vivência<br />
completamente diferente, como apresentadora vivo meus<br />
sentimentos.<br />
Did you always want to be an actress?<br />
I studied ballet as a little girl and, as a dancer, I ended up<br />
participating in some commercials. At the time, I was with<br />
a modeling agency, and one day by mistake, I was called<br />
upon to do an audition for a movie. This was my first work as<br />
an actress, the film Woman on Top with the actress Penelope<br />
Cruz. The fact of being able to speak English helped me a<br />
lot, but I have never taken a course. I learned by listening<br />
to music and just got the hang of it. Then, came the first<br />
soap opera, because they had seen me in the movie. From<br />
then on, it was one role after another.<br />
What is the most important role of your career?<br />
All were very different and somehow added something.<br />
I’ve never taken on a role similar to another. I believe that<br />
every experience has been positive and contributed to my<br />
professional growth, but I do not consider any one role<br />
the role of my life.<br />
Currently you are playing a role in Malhação. What is<br />
different from the first time you participated in the soap<br />
opera 15 years ago?<br />
Malhação has changed a lot. The entire structure, not just<br />
the cast. It is a different team, language, equipment. I don’t<br />
consider this a return, because a return is going back and<br />
playing the same role, but this is totally different. I am loving<br />
it, playing a villain is always good for an actor.<br />
How do you construct a villain?<br />
It’s very challenging because you end up having an attitude<br />
and doing things that you didn’t expect. You never know<br />
what’s going to happen with the character of the role. If he’s<br />
being nice because he is changing or if there’s something<br />
he is holding back. It is always a surprise. And the soap<br />
opera is very generous, if you record a bad scene today<br />
you have a chance to improve tomorrow. It is an exercise<br />
in improvisation, because, every day, the actor is gradually<br />
putting together the character.<br />
You also work as a TV host. What do you like the most,<br />
to host or to act?<br />
Since 2002, I have reconciled the two professions. I love<br />
both. I have devoted myself to being a TV host because I<br />
realize that I have more autonomy. I can choose my own<br />
programs, write texts, anyway I have more freedom than in<br />
the soap opera which are already scripted. But each adds<br />
something, somehow. As a TV host, I have accumulated<br />
my best values as a human being, by the amount of travel<br />
I have had to do, the different people I have met, and the<br />
experiences I have lived. As an actress, I just experience<br />
the people I know. It’s a challenge to control emotions and<br />
feelings. Being an actress is knowing yourself well, in terms<br />
of emotion and control, and knowing how to keep these<br />
