Companies are more concerned with the impact that they’re having
on our world, and how they can influence society, and I feel that’s
something that will become more pronounced in the future.
I am inspired by the perseverance and optimism of Nelson Mandela,
Barack Obama’s communication skills and the courage of Malala
Yousafzai.

No plano empresarial, acredito que será um momento decisivo,
no qual muitas empresas já terão adotado novas tecnologias e
em que outras morrerão por não se terem adaptado. No plano
político, espero que os líderes internacionais adotem um estilo
muito mais colaborativo. No plano humano, espero que todos
entendam que a sua contribuição é decisiva para que o planeta
esteja melhor nos 10 anos seguintes, não só através de uma
coexistência saudável e natural entre diferentes culturas
e raças, mas também através de melhorias a nível ecológico
e ambiental.
On the business front, I believe it will be a turning point, in which
many companies will have adopted new technologies and others will
die because they have not adapted. On the political front, I hope that
international leaders will adopt a much more collaborative style. At
the human level, I hope everyone understands that their contribution
is decisive to ensure a better planet for the next 10 years, not only
through healthy and natural coexistence between different cultures and
races, but also through ecological and environmental improvements.

Acho que 10 anos é muito tempo e pouco tempo. Se pensarmos em
2007, ainda não existiam iPhones, nem Uber, AirBnB ou Netflix,
produtos e empresas que redesenharam as suas indústrias, mas
muitas indústrias ainda estão muito semelhantes ao que eram.
Penso que daqui a 10 anos, o mundo estará ainda mais digital, e
que isso irá permitir mais trabalho flexível e remoto. Acredito
que as empresas irão valorizar outras capacidades, como vemos
já na Quarta Revolução Industrial, e que as Universidades vão ter
de se adaptar para responder a essas necessidades. Mas qual é a
próxima grande tendência como a “Sharing Economy”? Isso teremos
de esperar e ver.
I think 10 years is a long time and a short time. If we think of 2007,
there were still no iPhones, no Uber, no AirBnB, nor Netflix, products
and companies that redesigned their industries, but many industries
are still very similar to what they were. I think that in 10 years the
world will be even more digital, and that this will allow more flexible
and remote work. I believe that companies will value other skills, as we
see in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and that universities will have
to adapt to meet those needs. But what is the next big trend like the
“Sharing Economy”? We’ll have to wait and see.

Penso que as empresas e os negócios não serão diferentes
concetualmente, mas os humanos sim, e isso influenciará
os negócios e as empresas.
I don’t think that companies and business will be different conceptually,
but humans will be and this will influence business and companies
as a result.

Anti-leaders are killing leaders now. I love History so I often look back
to the past. Alexander the Great and Caesar, incredible strategists and
respectful of others.
Coexistência saudável, trabalho flexível,
“Sharing Econonomy”, inteligência artificial, um
mundo novo com seres humanos diferentes.
É isto que pensam os escultores do futuro.

Healthy coexistence, flexible working, “Sharing
Economy”, artificial intelligence, a new world with
different humans. This is what the sculptors of the
future think.

Creio que os próximos 10 anos consolidarão a presença da
tecnologia e dos sistemas de informação em todas as áreas
da nossa vida. Iremos assistir à massificação da substituição
dos empregos/trabalhos humanos por robots e máquinas. Essa
realidade irá lançar um debate complexo sobre o direito ao
trabalho e a rendimentos mínimos para todos os cidadãos.
Por outro lado, a procura crescente de cuidados de saúde irá
implicar um investimento radical na eficiência dos sistemas
de saúde. Estou certo de que muita dessa transformação
passará pela inteligência artificial.
I believe that the next 10 years will consolidate the presence of
technology and information systems in all areas of our lives. We will
witness mass replacement of human jobs/work by robots and machines.
This reality will launch a complex debate on the right to work and
minimum income for all citizens.
On the other hand, the increasing demand for health care will imply a
radical investment in the efficiency of health systems. I am sure that
much of this transformation will involve artificial intelligence.
