În primelepatru săli sunt prezentate rezultatelecercetărilor arheologice de pe șantierele dinjudeț. A cincea sală este dedicată epocii lui Mihai Viteazul - fondatorul orașului. La etaj se aflăcabinetele de numismatică și medalistică, sala ”Filatelie și cartofilie”, expozițiile ”Ioan Bassarabescu”,”1848 - 1859” și ”Prahova Interbelică”. Sala Auditorium și sala ”Sport 2” sunt alocate expozițiilortemporare și activităților cultural-educative.The permanent exhibition illustrates the archaeological finds from the Prahova county – Târgșoru Vechiand Budureasca archaeological reserves, the beginnings of the Ploiești city, events from the middle ofthe 19th century (the Revolution of 1848) and their echo in Prahova county, the coin and medal rooms,aspects of the Prahova cultural life before the war. The first four halls presents the finds from thearchaeological excavations in various sites. The fifth one is dedicated to the period of Michael theBrave, the founder of the city. Other two rooms host temporary exhibitions and other cultural events.299
