Sunt binereprezentate monedele antice grecești,geto-dacice, romane republicane și imperiale, bizantine, otomane și medievale central-europene. Existăși o colecție semnificativă de medalii europene și nord-americane, ponduri și piese asociate monedelordin tezaure (recipiente și podoabe).The core of the collection is represented by the stock inherited from the National Antiquities Museum,built during the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. It has been completed by acquisitionsand donations, and especially pieces picked up during archaeological excavations. The most importantsamples include those from Histria, Dinogetia, Noviodunum, Tropaeum Trajani, Sucidava and Suceava.One can remark the ancient Greek, Geto-Dacian, Republican and imperial Roman, Byzantine, Ottomanand Central European Mediaeval coins. There is also a considerable collection of European and North-American medals, ponds and pieces associated to the hoard coins (recipients and ornaments).78
