The Beaverton Veterans Memorial<br />
Management Corporation and Beaverton<br />
Post 124, of the American Legion, invites<br />
you to show support for veterans you know<br />
through the purchase of a commemorative<br />
brick.<br />
Honor your family member or loved one<br />
with a commemorative brick in a lasting<br />
way, that can be shared and observed<br />
in a setting of peaceful contemplation,<br />
amidst other veteran memorials, rose<br />
gardens, flowers and landscaping, in<br />
the heart of Beaverton, in the Beaverton<br />
Veterans Memorial Park, at the corner<br />
of 7 th and Watson Streets. This unique<br />
park and it’s monuments commemorates<br />
and honors veterans of all services in all<br />
the wars, conflicts and peacekeeping<br />
missions since 1893, when Beaverton<br />
Oregon first became a city.<br />
Many bricks honor veterans of WWII,<br />
including allies such as Red Army<br />
Veterans. There is a strong presence and<br />
involvement by the community’s Russian<br />
speaking citizens. The Russian speaking<br />
community has also dedicated a bench<br />
from which the main monument and bricks<br />
can be viewed and contemplated while<br />
you sit and rest.<br />
Over 1,500 bricks are now in place, with<br />
room recently added for an additional 160.<br />
Each brick is 3 and ½ inches by 7 and ½<br />
inches providing an opportunity for three<br />
BEAVERTON VETERANS MEMORIAL BRICK<br />
This unique monument is to commemorate all veterans of all services in all the Wars, conflicts<br />
and peacekeeping missions since 1893 when Beaverton first became a city. The monument is<br />
located in the City of Beaverton at Memorial Park, comer of 7* Street & Watson.<br />
To purchase a brick for yourself, a family member, or friend, you need to contact Bob Gelhar,<br />
Finance Officer, American Legion Post #124, at 12500 SW Allen Blvd., P.O. Box 10, Beaverton, Oregon<br />
97005. The cost of manufacturing and engraving the brick with perpetual care is $75.00. Please<br />
make check or money order payable to: Beaverton Veterans Memorial Fund.<br />

Each brick is 3-1/2" X 7-1/2" providing an opportunity for three lines of 17 characters per line. Each<br />
space, letter, number or punctuation mark is a character. The Computer will center each line.<br />
