YOUNG CEO OF ERCİYES AT TRİLYEYears ago, one night when I felt that my glycemic indexwas skyrocketing, I caught a whif of pastries while inYıldız, and noticed an interesting sign for a pastry shop calledErciyes...so I stopped. Other than a few different types of cookiesand water pastries, there wasn’t much, and I started aconversation with the amateur spirited woman at the counterand asked her a few questions.Without ever forgetting the satiated feeling from that deliciouspastry, the young and super entrepreneur, the head ofErciyes, Serdar Eker, visited <strong>Trilye</strong>. One could see the joy inhis eyes from building a trusted brand name that has reachedevery neighborhood and every corner.In May, the friend I entrust the most with my palate in Ankara prepared a sumptuous meal for us. Thefirst thing I noticed was that water pastry at the corner of the head of the table. “Did you prepare this?”I asked. “Traditionally, for generations, this incredible taste has truly been the crown of the table. Weordered this from Erciyes Pastry in Gölbaşı.” When he uttered those words, I laughed a little.To those who ask, “Why not serve us big name brands?” it seems as if Mr. Eker is quick to respond.With his entrepreneurial spirit and inexstinguishable enthusiasm, Serdar Eker should be not only mywish, but the wish of all Ankarans, as the creator of a unique and special concept of “My dear pastryshop,” for weddings and birthdays.Mr. Eker, who is incredibly meticulous, principled, and always in control, is quite fond of fish. After his<strong>Trilye</strong> experience, I’m not sure if he will create a seafood water pastry, but his use of quality products forless and his propensity for success at such a young age have ensured that he is enjoying himself these days.Upon leaving the restaurant in a good mood, the young head of Erciyes, Serdar Eker and his team, promisedto return as soon as possible and continue the conversation about the brand.TİRİLYE MAYOR VISITS TRİLYESince the day he was elected, the exceptionalmayor of the seaside town of Tirilye inMudanya, Ali Turan, has quickly risen in rank.He was recently in Ankara to participate in apanel for the AKVAD Foundation. As a result oftheir great efforts, President of the Turkish-British Cultural Association Neşe Coşkunsu,AKVAD Foundation President Prof. Dr. SacitPekak, AKVAD Board Member Cenk Yapakçı,Prof. Dr. Serdar Aksöyek, and President of theAssociation for the Protection and Sustenance ofZeytinbağı Prof. Dr. Yusuf Oğuzoğlu were allparticipants in an interesting panel titled, “The History of Tirilye”. At the end of the panel, PresidentTuran gave a short speech discussing Tirilye’s history and touristic richness. The mayor, who is wellequipped on the subject, finally visited its namesake <strong>Trilye</strong> restaurant for the first time. Ali Turan,who is quite interested in seafood and worked in the fishing sector for forty years, shared manymemories of Tirilye throughout the dinner. After being known by Zeytinbağı for many years, hementioned that he was pleased to return the name of the town to Tirilye through the Turkish GrandNational Assembly. He was quite moved and pleased as he left the restaurant. He bid farewell promisingthat he would return to Ankara and <strong>Trilye</strong> as soon as possible.79
