Having served more than 10 thousand members since
1991, for export operations, and organizing events with
a view to achieving its member firms’ leadership in the
global markets, IKMIB plays a major part in making new
markets accessible to chemicals exporters, through the
international trade shows, trading and buying delegation
events it organizes.
1991 yılından bu yana, ihracat operasyonları konusunda 10 binden
fazla üyeye hizmet veren ve üye firmaların global pazarlarda
lider olması hedefiyle çeşitli organizasyonlar düzenleyen
İKMİB, düzenlediği uluslararası fuarlar, ticaret ve alım heyetleri
organizasyonları ile kimya ihracatçılarının yeni pazarlara
ulaşmasında önemli rol oynuyor.
Sektör firmaları ve bunun yanında MASSİAD, DİŞSİAD, TÜMDEF,
OSTİM Medikal Kümelenme, İSEK, Türkiye İlaç ve Tıbbi Cihaz
Kurumu, T.C. Gümrük Bakanlığı ve T.C. Ekonomi Bakanlığı
temsilcilerinin katıldığı çalıştaya yoğun ilgi gösterildi.
Medikal sektöründe ABD birinci sırada
Çalıştayın açılışında konuşan İKMİB Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı
Murat Akyüz, dünyadaki medikal sektörü hakkında bilgi vererek,
“Tıbbi cihaz ve medikal sektörü, genel anlamda dünyada hızlı
bir dönüşüm geçirerek eskiye oranla daha çok bilgi ve sermaye
yoğun bir sektör olma yolunda ilerliyor. Sektörde 2016 yılında
dünyada 228 milyar dolar üretim yapıldı ve bu üretim değerinin
102 milyar doları ABD’de gerçekleştirildi. Ardından gelen Çin
toplam üretimin yüzde 12,8’ini (29 milyar dolar) yaparken,
Almanya 26 milyar dolar değer üreterek toplam üretimin yüzde
11’ini gerçekleştirdi. Türkiye ise tıbbi ve cerrahi cihaz üretiminin
yüzde 0,5’ini gerçekleştirdi ve ülkemizin üretim değeri ise 1,2
milyar dolar oldu” diye konuştu.
Türkiye’de Medikal Sektörü
Türkiye’deki medikal sektörüyle ilgili bilgi veren Akyüz,
“Medikal sektörü ihracatımız 2013 yılında 484.3 milyon dolar
seviyesindeyken 2016 yılında 516.3 milyon dolar seviyelerine
çıktı. Yine 2016 yılında en çok ihracat yaptığımız ülkeler sırasıyla
Almanya (38,3 milyon dolar), Çin (35,8 milyon dolar), Irak (24,1
milyon dolar), Hollanda (20,8 milyon dolar), Fransa (19,4 milyon
dolar) ve Azerbaycan (18 milyon dolar) olarak kayıtlara geçti. 2016
ithalat verilerine baktığımızda ise ülkemiz ithalatında ön plana
çıkan ülkelerin ABD (567 milyon dolar), Almanya (461 milyon
dolar), Çin (444 milyon dolar), İtalya (173 milyon dolar), Japonya
(156 milyon dolar) ve Malezya (120 milyon dolar) olduğunu
görüyoruz” dedi.
In this context, IKMIB recently organized the “Workshop
on the Future of the Medical Industry”, with a view to
coming up with effective solutions to the problems of the
medical industry, one of chemical industry’s sub-sectors
with the highest added value levels. The event held in
Istanbul on 23-24 December, 2017 brought together
the leading actors of the industry. The workshop drew
substantial interest from the representatives of MASSİAD,
DİŞSİAD, TÜMDEF, OSTİM Medical Cluster, İSEK, Turkish
Medicine and Medical Devices Authority, Turkish Ministry
of Customs and Trade and Turkish Ministry of Economy
along with the firms from the industry.
The wide range of responses voiced for the questions
“What are the notable regional and global economic and
political developments, and what are their impact on our
industry? What are the problems faced within and outside
the country in terms of foreign trade? What kind of new
solutions within our means can be proposed to overcome
or do away with such problems, taking into account the
shared problems of the industry?”, paved the way for
important steps to benefit the medicals industry.
USA ranks top in the medical industry
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, IKMIB’s
Chairman of the Board of Directors, Murat Akyüz provided
some information about the medical industry worldwide,
and said “Generally speaking, the medical devices
industry is undergoing a rapid transformation worldwide,
and is on its way to become a knowledge- and capitalintensive
industry compared to its earlier standing. 2016
saw the industry produce products worth USD 228 billion
worldwide. Out of this figure, the volume worth USD 102
billion was produced in the USA. The second-ranking
country, China, accounted for 12.8 percent (USD 29 billion)
of the overall production; while Germany accounted for
11 percent of the overall production, generating a value of
USD 26 billion. Turkey, in turn, accounted for 0.5 percent
of medical and surgical devices production, generating a
value of USD 1.2 billion.”
The Medical Industry in Turkey
Providing information on the medical industry in Turkey,
Akyüz said “our exports in the medical industry grew from
USD 484.3 million in 2013 to USD 516.3 million in 2016.
As of 2016, the countries which received the bulk of our
exports were Germany (USD 38.3 million), China (USD
35.8 million), Iraq (USD 24.1 million), the Netherlands
(USD 20.8 million), France (USD 19.4 million), and
Azerbaijan (USD 18 million). A glance at the import figures
for 2016, on the other hand, reveals that US (USD 567
million), Germany (USD 461 million), China (USD 444
million), Italy (USD 173 million), Japan (USD 156 million,
and Malaysia (USD 120 million) took the lead.”
