Srebrni Jubilej, V Zavetju Vseh Svetnikov Silver ... - Glas Slovenije

Since the formation of the Slovenian Australian Club Planica we
were the hosts of numerous political and church delegations from
Slovenia. The first musical group that made a concert tour of
Australia in 1973 was the Ensemble of Lojze Slak and The Lads
from Paprot.
The radio program Slovenian Voice in Wollongong became a
reality in April 1995 when we were allocated a half hour
program on the 2VOX FM community radio. This was one of the
major achievements for our community in the Illawarra. Within
a year our program was allocated one hour. Our Slovenian
program is now thirteen years old. The first co-ordinator was
Snežana Brdnik. After a few months Tereza and Vinko Kropič
replaced Snežana. Rebeka, Robert and Ivan Rudolf joined the
co-production team and Bernardette Sirc was also involved for a
few months. Three years ago Marica and Karlo Kerčmar
replaced the Rudolf family.
Many things happened in these past years since our immigration.
Now we are concerned about what will happen to our clubs and
churches as the younger generation does not show much interest
in joining our clubs. We have to be optimistic and hope for the
best.
The Club Planica committee for the financial year 1982-1983
was: president Ivan Rudolf; vice president Bogo Franetič;
secretary Karlo Kerčmar; treasurer Marica Kerčmar.
Committee members were: Anton Godec; Janez Hernec; Franc
Koprivec; Ema Mailow; Albin Obal; Milan Sirc and Stanko
Vučko.
The committee for the financial year 2007-2008 is: president
Ivan Rudolf; vice president Ema Mailow; secretary Margaret
Hatežič; treasurer Tereza Kropič. Committee members are
Vinko Kropič, Jože Železnik, Franc Tehovnik, Andrew Žičkar,
Frank Sirc and Božo Biletič.
