Vocal Quartet Planica<br />
In 1988 a few Slovenians thought it would be a good idea if they<br />
could establish a men’s choir in Wollongong. There were not<br />
many who wanted to sacrifice their time, but six men came<br />
forward: Maks Vočanec, Jože Komidar, Janko Grivec, Franc<br />
Koprivec, Lojze Šturm and Pepi Mezgec. They still needed<br />
another singer and Janez Marinič joined the group. They also<br />
needed an accompanist and they found him in Sydney. His name<br />
was Rudi Črnčec and he travelled 100 km each way every week<br />
to attend the rehearsals at the Slovenian Club Planica. They soon<br />
released a cassette of Slovenian songs. After a while some<br />
singers departed and Janez Stajnko joined the group. They often<br />
performed at Slovenian functions in NSW and in the ACT. Their<br />
