PROSEČ POD JEŠTĚDEM
Kraj pod Ještědem je neodmyslitelně spjat s osobností spisovatelky Karoliny Světlé.
Jeho nádherné přírodě a svérázným obyvatelům věnovala množství povídek.
Obec Proseč pod Ještědem sdružuje osady Domaslavice, Horka, Javorník a Padouchov, v nichž žije téměř
400 obyvatel uprostřed jedinečné přírody v podhůří Ještědsko-kozákovského hřbetu. Milovníkům
přírody nabídne přírodní park Ještěd lokalitu Basa nebo Hudcovu (Mazovu) horku se skalním příbytkem
Skalákovna. Ze samotného hřebene, v podještědském nářečí zvaného „Prosecký Hora“, se nám otevřou
malebné výhledy od Krkonoš až po České středohoří. Příznivcům sportu nabídne množství turistických
tras a cyklostezek. Nedaleko středu obce se nachází lesní sportovní areál Borovičky a místní krásná

Come to Osečná, a welcoming town of one thousand inhabitants located southwest of Liberec. The
Church of St. Vitus from the mid-16th century dominates the charming village square, which you can
use as a starting point to explore everything beautiful in the surroundings. The sulphuric and iron treatments
offered at the Kundratice spa have been treating pain in the back, feet and hands since 1881. The
well-marked routes from here lead through a region with which you are likely familiar from the stories of
Karolína Světlá, such as the abundant springs of the Ploučnice river. The small village of Kotel will charm
you with its enormous linden trees, in the cavities of which you will feel like you are in an aromatic chapel.
On the ridge of the Kotel peak, you can choose from two paths. One will take you along the way of the
cross to the Chapel of the Divine Tomb and the other leads to the Devil’s Wall, a unique basalt structure
which is said to be the work of Lucifer himself. Get to know Osečná. You will love it for your entire life.
The region below Ještěd is inseparably tied to the legacy of writer Karolína Světlá. Its
beautiful nature and diverse population have been described in many of her stories.
The village of Proseč pod Ještědem brings together the settlements of Domaslavice, Horka, Javorník
and Padouchov, which are home to nearly 400 inhabitants in the middle of a unique natural environment
in the foothills of the Ještěd-Kozákov ridge. The Ještěd Nature Park offers nature lovers the opportunity
to explore the Basa locality or Hudec´s (Maza´s) small hill with the Skalákovna cliff dwellings. From the
ridge itself, known in the Podještědí dialect of Czech as “Prosecký Hora”, there are breath-taking views
from the Krkonoše Mountains all the way to the Bohemian Central Highlands. Lovers of sport can enjoy
the many hiking and cycling paths. Not far from the centre of the village, there is the Borovičky sport
facility surrounded by forests, along with the beautiful local Sokol clubhouse. The folk architecture of
Podještědí is also worthy of mention, as is the cultural life in the village and the local traditions handed
down to later generations by the Horačky folklore group. For travellers from afar, the village offers accommodation
in a tourist inn. Come visit and explore all of the beauty of Podještědí!
