Povídání o Ještědu<br />
Ještěd je odedávna považován za jednu z hlavních<br />
dominant severních Čech a za symbol města Liberce,<br />
rozprostírajícího se pod ním.<br />
Jeho vrcholu s nadmořskou výškou 1012 metrů dodává<br />
elegantní aerodynamickou špičku unikátní stavební<br />
dílo, slavný horský hotel s vysílačem. Stavba<br />
vyrostla v letech 1966–1973 podle projektu architekta<br />
Karla Hubáčka, zásluhu na jedinečném interiéru má<br />
akademický architekt Otakar Binar. Neobvyklá stavba<br />
si žádala neobvyklé stavební postupy i netradiční<br />
výrobce. Věděli jste například, že několik metrů dlouhé<br />
umělohmotné tyče vyráběla továrna na rybářské<br />
pruty? Musela kvůli tomu prorazit díru do fabriky,<br />
která byla příliš malá… Tento odvážný projekt zaujal<br />
architekty z celého světa, a tak byl po zásluze oceněn<br />
prestižní Perretovou cenou. Budova hotelu Ještěd je<br />
unikátním symbolem celého Libereckého kraje. Ať jste<br />
kdekoli ve městě, sleduje vás doslova na každém kroku<br />
a od roku 2001 jeho silueta září do noci jako prazvláštní<br />
vesmírná loď nehybně zavěšená uprostřed oblohy.<br />
Words about Ještěd<br />
Ještěd has long been considered one of the main<br />
landmarks of North Bohemia and a symbol of the<br />
city of Liberec, located below it.<br />
Its peak with an elevation of 1,012 meters above sea<br />
level is elegantly and aerodynamically topped off by<br />
a unique piece of construction, a famous hotel with a<br />
transmitter. The hotel was built during 1966-1973 while<br />
it was based on the project of architect Karel Hubáček<br />
and its unique interior can be attributed to academic<br />
architect Otakar Binar. The atypical construction site<br />
has required atypical construction approaches and<br />
non-traditional manufacturers. Did you know for example<br />
that the artificial poles, which are several metres<br />
long, were produced by a fishing rod factory? In<br />
order to do so, it had to poke a hole in the factory,<br />
which was too small. This bold project has impressed<br />
architects worldwide and has even received the Perret<br />
Prize. The building of the Ještěd hotel is a unique symbol<br />
of the entire Liberec Region. No matter where you<br />
are in town, you can see it and since 2001, its silhouette<br />
has shined into the night like a space ship hovering in<br />
the sky.<br />
