Shall we go have a beer?
Gentlemen are all too familiar with this question, the answer to which is entirely clear. They also know that in few cases will they limit their consumption to just one.
This is especially true when they visit locations where every day they
can try a different type of hop-rich beer from a cold glass. It is true
when they visit a location where exceptional beer with exceptional
energy is produced, the Volt s.r.o. brewery in Jablonec nad Nisou.
Just as famous scientist and inventor Alessandro Volta was seeking
a way at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries to harness electricity,
without which we cannot imagine our world today, at the Volt brewery
they are constantly seeking new recipes, production procedures and
ways of preparing beer that is refreshing and “electrifying”. The history
of beer brewing in Jablonec nad Nisou is rich and at one time
the brewery there was one of the largest in the Czech lands. The Volt
brewery, located near the stone dam of the Mšeno water reservoir, is
tied to this rich history and adds to the collection of speciality beers
of small Czech breweries. The beer from this brewery of course does
not taste merely like typical Czech beers. Why? When we ask the
brewer, he will gladly clarify. The typical bitterness that we encounter
in well-known beers is due to Czech hops. However, the beers from
the Volt brewery have the tones and aroma of citrus fruits as well as
other fruits, which is due only to specially cultivated hops which are
not of Czech character. The brewery purchases the best hops from
around the world. It also abides by the beer purity rule, which says
that beer should only contain hops, yeast, malt and water. You can
go to Volt for “one” beer every day, while every day a new taste will
await you, meaning a different “voltage” and a different type of beer.
Of course, while you enjoy it you can sit in the spacious garden or
stylish pub and choose from a large selection of excellent delicacies.
The curious can also view the insides of the brewery, where they
will see how this beer with exceptional energy and the right charge
is produced. What more could you ask for? Perhaps only the opportunity
to remain in this exceptional location with unexpected tastes
for a bit longer. And this wish can come true because the brewery
includes an inn with stylishly furnished rooms. Those who set out
on a journey around the dam will not be deprived of a unique dose
of energy either. In Jablonecké Břízky you will fi nd the “Voltovna”,
which is not only a refreshing beer point with a view of the Mšeno
dam. And the energy continues to spread. The brewery supplies beer
to multiple restaurants in Jablonec and in Liberec as well as to beer
tasting festivals outside of the region. Even popular festivals will not
get by without it. The name Volt is a refl ection of the adventure and
energy that we can fi nd in the beer. And energy is also refl ected in
the names of its individual types: Elektron, Baterka, Pojistka, Startér,
Eliášův oheň and others. Whoever tastes them once will forget about
commercial energy drinks in cans. So, take your friends and go have
a beer together.
