Research
Free oscillation seismology: analysis of free oscillations for the estimation of degenerate mode
frequencies and attenuation rates. Inversion of mode frequencies for refined models of the spherically
averaged elastic and anelastic Earth structure. Analysis of mode splitting and subsequent inference of
long wavellength heterogeneous mantle and core structure.
broad-band seismic sensors. Development of methods to correct vertical component free oscillation
spectra for the effect of local atmospheric presseure.
Development of geophysical sensors: construction of an infrasound detector based on a fiber optic
interferometer.
