Artikels in ihrer Private Equity Serie.
Preface
To our knowledge this is one of very few publications covering
various angles related to the liquidity management of a
private equity / venture capital fund-of-funds. We base our
article on several years of own practical experience in the
management of fund-of-funds and on an extensive literature
research (see bibliography). Our focus is the presentation of a
framework for an often overlooked but important aspect of
the still immature private equity fund-of-funds asset class,
and to encourage further work on this subject.
This article represents our personal opinion and does not
necessarily reflect the approaches followed by the European
Investment Fund 1 or other institutionell investors. We thank
Juan Delgado-Moreira, Ph.D., CFA (Head of Risk
Management, Baring Private Equity Partners) for giving us an
insight into his forecasting methodologies. We also thank
Axel Zehren (Head of Financial Planning & Controlling,
Allianz Versicherung, Munich) for the interesting discussions
and their valuable contributions.
Finally, we thank the RWB AG, Oberhaching, for their help
during the preparations and for publishing this article in their
private equity series.
