ZUSAMMENFASSUNG:
Der soziale Raum "Betrieb". Zur Strukturierung der betrieblichen Sozialwelt aus der Sicht
der Bourdieuschen Sozialtheorie.
Die Frage der betrieblichen Strukturbildung erlangt in der heutigen industriesoziologischen Debatte
erneut Aktualität. Im deutschsprachigen Raum zeigt dies die Entwicklung von Konzepten, wie
"Sozialverfassung" (Hildebrandt/Seltz), "Sozialordnung" (Kotthoff/Reindl) oder "Mikropolitik"
(Ortmann). Das Interesse an der sozialen Dimension des Betriebs, an der politischen und
kulturellen Fundierung betrieblicher Sozialwelten läßt jedoch neue Fragestellungen formulieren,
die sich mit den bislang gängigen Erklärungsmustem vielfach nicht oder nicht zufriedenstellend
beantworten lassen. In dieser Situation scheinen zwei Dinge erforderlich: zum einen die kritische
Auseinandersetzung mit dem etablierten Theorieangebot; zum anderen die Öffnung von Grenzen
gegenüber allgemeinen soziologischen Theorien, insbesondere gegenüber neueren Entwicklungen.
Der vorliegende Text kommt diesem Anspruch insofern nach, als er zunächst die konzeptionellen
Strategien und Probleme einiger, für die Geschichte der Industriesoziologie maßgeblicher Ansätze
diskutiert (hier: die "kontrolltheoretische", "kontingenztheoretische" und "technikdetermmistische"
Begründung betrieblicher Strukturen); im weiteren wird der Beitrag von Giddens' "Structuration
Theory" und Crozier/Friedbergs "Gameskonzept" erörtert; schließlich, und hauptsächlich geht es
aber darum, die Sozialtheorie von Pierre Bourdieu darzustellen. Die Navigation durch das
Bourdieusche Theoriegebäude stützt sich auf einen Kompaß an industriesoziologischen Fragen.
Ziel ist es, die Relevanz von Konzeptionen wie Habitus, Feld, Kapitalien, sozialer Tausch für die
Fragen der Erklärung betrieblicher Strukturbildung aufzuzeigen.

The Social Space "Business Corporation". Structuration of the Social World of the
Corporation from the Point of View of the Social Theory of Bourdieu.
The question of the social generation of corporational structures is gaining importance in todays'
debates of industrial sociology. In thé German speaking context this is indicated by the
development of concepts, such as "Sozialverfassung" (Hildebrandt/Seltz), "Sozialordnung"
(Kotthoff/Reindl) or "Mikropolitik" (Ortmann). Yet, the interest in the social dimension of the
corporation, in the political and cultural foundation of the social worlds of corporations provokes
questions, which in many cases may not or may not satisfactorily be answered by the current
explanatory patterns. In this situation the requirement seems to be twofold: first, for a critical
discussion of already established theories; second, for an intensified discussion of general social
theories, especially of new developments. This text meets these requirements in so far as it first
discusses some of the main concepts in the history of industrial sociology (here: "labor control
theory", "contingency theory" and "technology deterministic theory"); further, the contribution of
Giddens' "Structuration Theory" and Crozier/Friedbergs "Games Concept" is discussed; finally, and
in the main instance, the social theory of Pierre Bourdieu is portrayed. The navigation through the
theoretical universe of Bourdieu is guided by a compass of questions of industrial sociology. The
purpose is to show the relevance of concepts, such as habitus, field, capitals, social exchange for
questions concerning the explanation of structure generation of enterprises.
