Arash T. Riahi, 1972 im Iran geboren, lebt seit 1982 in Österreich. Nach seiner Zeit als<br />
Student der <strong>Film</strong>- und Geisteswissenschaften an der Universität Wien war er freier Mitarbeiter<br />
des ORF, unter anderem bei den Sendungen nitebox und kunst-stücke. 1997<br />
gründete er gemeinsam mit Kollegen die <strong>Film</strong>- und Medienproduktionsfirma Golden<br />
Girls <strong>Film</strong>produktion. Riahis <strong>Film</strong>schaffen umfasst eine Reihe von Dokumentarfilmen,<br />
Werbespots, Musik-Videos, Kurz- und Experimentalfilmen, darunter auch die mehrfach<br />
international prämierte Familiengeschichte Exile Family Movie oder das Cross-Mediaprojekt<br />
Everyday Rebellion, das er mit seinem Bruder Arman realisierte. Sein<br />
erster Spielfilm Ein Augenblick Freiheit aus dem Jahr 2008 erhielt 31 internationale Auszeichnungen<br />
und war der österreichische Kandidat für den Auslands-Oscar 2010. Seit<br />
2010 arbeitet er auch als Dramaturg, unter anderem beim MEDIA Programm SOURCES 2.<br />
Arash T. Riahi, born 1972 in Iran, has been living in Austria since 1982. After graduating in<br />
film studies and humanities at the University of Vienna, he worked as a freelancer for the<br />
Austrian TV Channel ORF on television programmes such as nitebox and kunst-stücke. In<br />
1997, together with some of his colleagues, he founded the film and media production<br />
company Golden Girls <strong>Film</strong>produktion. His body of work comprises various award-winning<br />
documentaries, commercials, music videos, short and experimental films, including<br />
the internationally acclaimed and award-winning documentary Exile Family Movie, or<br />
the cross-media project Everyday Rebellion which he realised with his brother, Arman.<br />
His first feature film For a Moment, Freedom from the year 2008 received thirty-one international<br />
awards and was Austria’s candidate for the Best Foreign Language <strong>Film</strong> of<br />
The Year at the Academy Awards in 2010. He is also working as a dramatic advisor and<br />
has been a group leader at the MEDIA scriptwriting programme SOURCES 2 since 2010.<br />

Arman T. Riahi wurde 1981 im Iran geboren und ist in Wien aufgewachsen. Er studierte<br />
Medientechnik und arbeitete als Grafik- und Screendesigner in London. Seit 2005 ist er<br />
als Regisseur und Autor für verschiedene <strong>Film</strong>- und Fernsehproduktionen tätig. Unter anderem<br />
gestaltete er Sendungen für die Donnerstag Nacht im ORF. Zu seinen wichtigsten<br />
Arbeiten zählen die Dokumentarfilmreihe Momentum – What drives you (2008-2012), die<br />
fünfteilige TV-Dokumentation Africa Race (2013) und der Kinodokumentarfilm Schwarzkopf<br />
(2011), der als Eröffnungsfilm bei der 17. Ausgabe des Sarajevo <strong>Film</strong>festivals gezeigt<br />
wurde und den Publikumspreis bei der Diagonale gewonnen hat. Arman T. Riahis erster<br />
<strong>Film</strong> mit seinem Bruder Arash, das Cross-Media-Projekt Everyday Rebellion (<strong>2014</strong>), wurde<br />
bisher auf über 40 internationalen <strong>Festival</strong>s gezeigt und gewann mehrere Preise, wie<br />
beispielsweise den Publikumspreis beim CPH:DOX Copenhagen International Documentary<br />
<strong>Film</strong> <strong>Festival</strong>, den Cinema for Peace Award <strong>2014</strong> oder den CIVIS Media Online Preis.<br />
Arman T. Riahi was born in Iran in 1981 and grew up in Vienna. He studied media technology<br />
in Vienna and worked as a graphic and screen designer in London. He has been<br />
working as a director and author for several film and TV productions such as the Donnerstag<br />
Nacht format on Austrian state television ORF since 2005. His most important<br />
works include the film series Momentum – What drives you (2008-2012), the five-part TV<br />
documentary Africa Race (2013), as well as the feature documentary Schwarzkopf (2011)<br />
which premiered as the opening film of the 17th Sarajevo <strong>Film</strong> <strong>Festival</strong> and won the<br />
Audience Award at the Diagonale film festival. Arman T. Riahi’s first film with his brother<br />
Arash, the feature documentary and cross-media project Everyday Rebellion (<strong>2014</strong>),<br />
was screened at over 40 international film festivals and won several awards like the<br />
CPH:DOX Politiken Audience Award at the Copenhagen International Documentary<br />
<strong>Film</strong> <strong>Festival</strong> 2013, the <strong>2014</strong> Cinema for Peace Award, or the CIVIS Online Media Prize.<br />
