The aed was invited by the Robert Bosch Stiftung last year. It
was impressive to see how old and new architectonically create
a perfect symbiosis. Does this symbiosis also influence the
foundation’s everyday work?
Yes, our corporate culture finds its expression in the architecture
of the foundation’s headquarters. Transparency, independence
and dialogue are the guidelines of our thinking and work. These
stem from a symbiosis of the newly built Bosch Haus Heidehof
and the old residence – the Robert Bosch Haus: tradition and
the modern age, value orientation and innovation communicate
in this ensemble in an exemplary way. We are also obliged to
the values and the instructions of the founder in our work. This
gives us the power to support social change with new ideas.
Does the Robert Bosch Stiftung also support the aesthetic and
creative education – and if yes, why?
Creativity is the key to individual development and the basis for
renewal in society. Companies need creative employees to be
successful. Science needs innovative people, so do society and
culture. The musical and aesthetic education is the basis for
the development of the personality. It has to play an important
role in our kindergardens and schools. That is why we promote
the co-operation between education and art. The children have
close contact with art, music, opera, theatre and a lot more.
Do you see connections between the commitment of a
foundation and a company’s economic success?
On the one hand, Robert Bosch set an example: his actions as
entrepreneur and as a philanthropist cannot be separated. With
economic success, he took social responsibility. Both is based
on values, which are valid for a company as well as a foundation.
A company’s success and that of a foundation rely on the same
point of reference.
