Residenzschloss Darmstadt
In the heart of Darmstadt lies the former residential palace of
the landgraves and grand-dukes of Hessen-Darmstadt. Over
the course of its 600 years of architectural history the palace
has become an important feature in Darmstadt’s cityscape.
Today it accommodates facilities of the “Technische
Universität Darmstadt” and the University and State Library
with important collections of precious manuscripts, regional
literature and temporary exhibitions.

Getting there: You reach Darmstadt Hauptbahnhof
(main station) by regional train (Regionalbahn) from the
directions of Heidelberg, Bensheim, Frankfurt (Main) and
Wiesbaden every hour, by regional train from the direction
of Aschaffenburg every hour (sundays every two hours)
and by S-Bahn line S 3/S 4 from the direction of Frankfurt
(M) every half hour. From the main station take tram line
3 or bus line F, H, K or K 55 and get off at “Schloss Darmstadt”.
From here the walk takes just 2 minutes.
