Burg Hayn in Dreieichenhain

The oldest visible structure of the fortress complex is the 11thcentury
tower castle, the elaborately restored remains of the
oldest stone castle in Germany. Its west wall now serves as
stage backdrop for the popular castle festival and many other
events. The Geschichts- und Heimatverein eV Dreieichenhain
offers tours of the entire castle as well as the surrounding
picturesque old town. The history of the castle and the former
town of Dreieichenhain is documented in permanent and changing
exhibitions in the Dreieich-Museum.

Getting there: You reach Dreieich-Dreieichenhain by regional
train (Regionalbahn) from the directions of Dreieich-
Buchschlag and Dieburg every hour. Travelling from the
directions of Frankfurt (Main) and Darmstadt, please
change at Dreieich-Buchschlag. From the railway station
turn left into Bahnstraße, then right into Waldstraße and
walk straight ahead along Fahrgasse until you get to the
castle. The walk takes about 12 minutes.
