Interview with the Vice Principal
Dear Parents and Friends of Talitha Kumi (TK),
For those who do not know me well, I would like to introduce myself properly. My
Name is Christine Pierre Jildeh. I was born in Jerusalem but my family originally
comes from Jaffa where they were deported in the year 1948. I am married to a Greek
citizen “Sokratis Bouzoukas”. I spend a lot of my time on research and in my spare
time I like to read, listen to music and go to museums.
My education began with a Bachelor degree in Management and entrepreneurship.
Later I followed my passion in the children’s’ health & lifestyle, consequently, I continued
both my Master and Doctorate degrees in the field of Public Health and achieved
the title of Assistant Professor at Al-Quds Medical School in Palestine.
I have roughly 15 years of professional experience in management, entrepreneurship and educational capacity at
Al Quds University in Jerusalem. As well, I have worked as a project manager and coordinator with many international
and diplomatic agencies and NGOs, including DFG/Germany, the Japanese cooperation in Jerusalem,
USAID/USA, Diakonia/NAD in Jerusalem, Save the Children Sweden and SINTIF/Norway, FFIPP International/
USA, and many others.
Over the past few years, I have made a number of publications and one book in peer-viewed international journals
from which some are directly related to the health of children in Palestine.
I have been appointed as the Vice Principal of Talitha Kumi School in December 2014. In the short time that I have
been working here I noticed that the realities of schools today are unique and are much more challenging than
years before. There are many external as well as internal influences that shape a classroom and consequently the
future of a student.
Talitha Kumi is the home of 859 Palestinian children from all over the region of Bethlehem and Jerusalem. Taking
this into consideration, TK administration in cooperation with its staff members decided not only to focus on the educational
and teaching methods development which is achieved through the trainings and workshops that teachers
take on regular basis inside and outside the school, but to stress on our vision and our belief that every child can
reach his/her personal potential and every student can succeed.
Our school is committed to their students’ learning; approaching each day as an opportunity to reach out to kids
and cultivate their unique gifts, strengthen their personalities. There is no greater gift we can give our students
than giving each child the necessary tools to realize their hopes and dreams. we would prepare our students to
become strong participants and leaders in the community. This support is reflected in the results and feedback that
we receive after every competition and exchange program that our children participate in.
I have witnessed firsthand the significant benefits that come to children when their teachers and parents work
together to support and promote a cohesive educational and learning environment.
I am truly honored to serve the Talitha Kumi family and friends. On behalf of all the employees, I invite you to
stop by and visit and share in the warmth of our learning community. Please know my door is always open and I
welcome opportunities to get know you and everyone within Talitha Kumi’s family circle.
