Body Parts – the Possibilities of Reparative and
Regenerative Medicine
Severe illness or accidents leave many people dependent
on new tissue or even entire organs. Humans have been trying
to replace severed body parts for thousands of years. The
oldest prosthesis found to date is an astonishing 3500 years
old! The simple wooden stumps of the past have now become
sophisticated high-tech constructions.

Tribes on the Banks of the Rhine
This exhibition devoted to the importance of the River Rhine
for the early history of our region and for the whole of Europe
highlights the epoch-making changes brought about by
Caesar’s campaigns. The emphasis is on the political, cultural
and economic relationships between the Rhine region and
the Mediterranean civilisations.
19.11.2023 – 26.5.2024 Iberians
This special exhibition, conceived in cooperation with the
Museu d’Arqueologia de Catalunya, is dedicated to the
culture and art of the Iberians. This civilisation comprised
a group of peoples who stretched across the eastern part
of the Iberian Peninsula between the 6th and 1st centuries
B.C. Around 260 exhibits illustrate the diversity of this
Iron Age culture.
