Digitalisierung, Globalisierung und neue urbane Strukturen
– die Art und Weise wie wir leben, ändert sich rasant. Wie
Menschen auf diese Veränderung reagieren und sie aktiv in
ihren Alltag integrieren, ist die zentrale Frage, mit der sich die
chinesische Künstlerin Cao Fei in ihrer Ausstellung „Metamentary“
beschäftigt. Für einige ihrer Werke begibt sich die
Künstlerin selbst mittels ihres Avatars China Tracy in die
virtuelle Welt und dokumentiert dabei ihre persönliche
Wahrnehmung. Dystopisch schön!
Locations verkehren oder lässt sich bei einem ausgedehnten
Spaziergang durch die Stadt musikalisch überraschen.

DIVERSE ORTE
Digitalisation, globalisation and new urban structures - the
way we live is changing rapidly. How people react to this
change and actively integrate it into their everyday lives is the
central question addressed by Chinese artist Cao Fei in her
exhibition “Meta-mentary”. For some of her works, the artist
herself enters the virtual world using her avatar China Tracy
and documents her personal perception. Dystopian beauty!

Wer schreiben will wie Hesse, Brecht und Bachmann braucht
vor allem smarte Handwerkskniffe. Wie man zum Beispiel
Räume, Atmosphären und Landschaften in literarischen
Texten so beschreibt, dass sich Leser*innen in ihnen wiederfinden,
lernt man in der Abendwerkstatt des Literaturhauses
von der preisgekrönten Autorin Lena Gorelik.

SIMPLY THE BEST
Mit Songs wie „Private Dancer“ und „What’s Love Got To Do
With It“ erklomm die „Queen of Rock 'n' Roll“ in ihrer 50-jährigen
Karriere den Musik-Olymp. In der großen Tribute-Show
„The Soul of Tina Turner“ verbeugen sich im Prinzregententheater
hochkarätige Musiker*innen vor der Grande Dame
des Musikbusiness, die im Mai 2023 verstarb. Wer ihre Lieder
im Anschluss nicht aus dem Kopf bekommt, der schaut die
geniale Doku „Tina“ auf Netflix und lernt mehr über die Frau
hinter der Legende.

To Do With It”, the “Queen of Rock’n’Roll” scaled the music
Olympus in her 50-year career. In the grand tribute show “The
Soul of Tina Turner” at the Prinzregententheater, top-class musicians
pay tribute to the grande dame of the music business,

Bryce Dessner ist ein musikalisches Multitalent. Wenn er
nicht für die US-amerikanische Indie-Rockband „The National“
als Gitarrist auf der Bühne steht, schreibt er Filmmusik
und komponiert klassische Werke. Wie gut es sich anhört,
wenn er sich aus verschiedenen Klangtöpfen bedient und
kunstvoll verschiedene Stile miteinander verwebt, beweist
er bei der „Nachtmusik der Moderne“ gemeinsam mit dem
Münchner Kammerorchester und seiner Gitarre.
Bryce Dessner is a multi-talented musician. When he is not on
stage as a guitarist for the US indie rock band “The National”,
he writes film music and composes classical works. He
demonstrates just how good it sounds when he draws from
different sound pots and skilfully interweaves different styles at
“Nachtmusik der Moderne” together with the Munich Chamber
Orchestra and his guitar.

MOMENTAUFNAHMEN
Kate Moss, Tatjana Patitz, Christy Turlington – die Liste der
Mega-Models, die in den 90er Jahren vor der Kamera der
deutsche Modefotografin Nomi Baumgartl posierten, ist
lang. Bei der Ausstellung „Eternal Icons“ in der Leica Galerie
zeigt die Münchnerin jetzt unveröffentlichte Aufnahmen
und intime Porträts, die hinter den Kulissen der glitzernden
Modebranche mit analogen Kameras entstanden sind.

“Eternal Icons“ exhibition at the Leica Gallery, the Munich-based
photographer is now showing unpublished photographs
and intimate portraits taken behind the scenes of the glittering
fashion industry with analogue cameras.

Wer das Frühlingsfest auf der Theresienwiese als „kleine
Schwester der Wiesn“ bezeichnet, hat nicht ganz unrecht.
Bierzelte, Fahrgeschäfte, Wurfbuden und Süßigkeitsstände
sind ähnlich – aber längst nicht so überlaufen. Und das Beste:
Die Chance, sich im traditionellen Dirndl mit Zuckerwatte
in der Hand und Sonne im Gesicht ins Riesenrad zu setzen
und ohne Triefnase wieder auszusteigen, ist im Mai deutlich
höher als im Herbst.
Anyone who describes the spring festival on the Theresienwiese
as the “little sister of the Octoberfest” is not entirely wrong. Beer
tents, fairground rides, litter stalls and candy stands are similar
- but nowhere near as crowded. And the best thing is: the chance
of getting on the Ferris wheel in a traditional dirndl with candy
floss in your hand and sun on your face and getting off again
without a runny nose is much happier in May than in autumn.

Die Grenzen zwischen Kunst und Couture sind fließend, wie
das niederländische Designerduo Viktor&Rolf seit über 30
Jahren beweist. In ihre extravaganten Meisterwerke hüllen
sich nicht nur Stars wie Madonna, Tilda Swinton und Lady
Gaga, sondern auch ganze Ballettensembles. Die Kunsthalle
München setzt nun bei der Ausstellung „Viktor&Rolf. Fashion
Statements“ die Kreationen spektakulär in Szene und zeigt
neben echten Stücken, zahlreichen Videos und Skizzen die
handgefertigten und angekleideten Porzellanpuppen der
beiden Designer.
