Starting the engine<br />
WARNING<br />
Danger of damage!<br />
Reset the starter lever to the initial position as soon as the engine is running!<br />
Otherwise the engine could be damaged.<br />
Starting with a cold engine:<br />
1. Pull the rear or front brake.<br />
2. Press the start button or kick the kick start. The engine starts.<br />
Starting with a warm engine:<br />
1. Pull the front brake.<br />
2. Turn the throttle ¼ to ½ a turn.<br />
3. Press the start button or kick the kick start. The engine starts.<br />
4. Reset the starter lever to the initial position.<br />
Starting with the kick start:<br />
You can also start the engine with the kick start if the battery is fl at.<br />
The kick start cannot be operated when the main stand is folded up.<br />
1. Turn the ignition to ON.<br />
2. Then kick down the kick start lever forcefully.<br />
3. If the engine still does not start after 2 or 3 attempts, open the throttle slightly<br />
(¼–½ turn) and try again.<br />
