4.6 4.68 4.6 East East Camp (Engineering School) <strong>The</strong> hutted domestic site, known as East Camp was planned and built in 1941 and extended further south during 1943. Buildings were originally built with brick walls and timber trusses, while those added in 1943 were of prefabricated MoW (concrete) standard hutting (18ft 6in span, 60ft long huts to drawing number 5427/42). Post-war the camp ceased to be used as a quarters site, and became the Engineering School. Generally all buildings north of Implacable Road date from 1941 while most buildings south of it were constructed c.1943. Below is a schedule of buildings constructed in 1941 and 1943.
