Demographic characteristics
At the end of 2008, the domiciled population in Valle dei Mòcheni amounted to 2049, i.e. 0.37% of
the whole province. Inhabited centres are very small <strong>and</strong> only the Sant’Orsola Terme municipality
exceeds 1000 inhabitants. The remaining municipalities total less than 500 inhabitants each (Table
25).

The domiciled population growth rate increased by 8.3% in the period 1998-2008. Sant’Orsola Terme
increased by 21.9%, whereas the domiciled population in Palù del Fersina <strong>and</strong> Frassilongo decreased
by 12 <strong>and</strong> 10.8% respectively (Table 26).

The municipality with the highest density per square kilometre is Sant’Orsola Terme, while the
density of the whole area amounts to roughly 20 inhabitants per square kilometre (Table 27). If
compared with the figures for 1998, the density has generally increased, especially in Sant’Orsola
Terme.
