Frequency <strong>of</strong> Use <strong>of</strong> Various Programs and Activities<br />
From the list <strong>of</strong> 25 recreation programs and activities available within the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Marquette</strong> or<br />
Chocolay Township, respondents who have at least one person in their household participate in<br />
a program or activity were asked to indicate how <strong>of</strong>ten they participate in each program/activity.<br />
The following summarizes key findings based on those respondents who have at least one<br />
person in their household participate in the program/activity:<br />
(Note: The graph below does not show the percentage <strong>of</strong> respondents who indicated “less than<br />
once/month” or “seldom/never”.)<br />
Ninety-six percent (96%) <strong>of</strong> respondent households who participate in running or<br />
walking indicated they currently participate in it at least once a month. There are<br />
three other programs/activities that over 75% <strong>of</strong> respondent households currently<br />
participate in at least once a month, including: adult fitness/aerobics classes, weight<br />
training (85%), visiting nature areas/spending time outdoors (83%), and youth soccer<br />
(77%). It should also be noted that running or walking (56%) and adult fitness/aerobics<br />
classes, weight training (56%) are the programs/activities that the highest percentage <strong>of</strong><br />
respondents participate in several times per week.<br />
