LOCATION<br />
GOLEN GOL HYDROPOWER PROJECT<br />
The project is located on Golen Gol Nullah, a tributary<br />
of Mastuj River, 25 Km from Chitral Town in Khyber<br />
Pakhtunkhwa. The project is about 550 km from<br />
Islamabad.<br />
On completion this project will produce 106 MW with<br />
annual energy 436 million KWh. The construction period is<br />
4 years. The contract for the main dam has been awarded to<br />
M/s SAMBU-SARCO JV (Korean Firm) which has<br />
commenced its activities. Pre-qualification of Transmission<br />
Lines has also been completed. The Consultancy Agreement<br />
for construction supervision has been awarded to M/s Fichtner JV. (Germany)<br />

PRESENT STATUS<br />
Feasibility Study completed by HEPO/GTZ in 1997 is updated in 2005.<br />
Study for Detailed Design and preparation of Tender Documents completed by a joint<br />
venture of PES, FICHTNER, Engineering Associates.<br />
Construction of O&M <strong>WAPDA</strong> Staff Colony is in progress and will be completed in<br />
2011.<br />
Lot-2 & Lot-3.1 Civil Works & Power house, the contract has been awarded to M/s<br />
SAMBU, agreement signed and the contractor is being mobilized.<br />
Pre-qualification of contractor for Lot-3.2 E&M Works has been finalized and tender<br />
documents issued to the contractor and last date of submission is extended upto<br />
31.03.2011.<br />
Pre-qualification documents of firms for Lot-4 Transmission Line have been vetted by<br />
the Donors and Tender will be floated shortly.<br />
M/s Fichtner-PES-DMC-BAK JV has been appointed consultants for construction<br />
supervision.<br />
Cost of Works has been agreed by the following donors:<br />
- Saudi Development Fund for Civil Works (US$ 40 Million)<br />
- Kuwait Development Fund for E&M Works (US$ 37 Million)<br />
- OPEC for Transmission Lines (US$ 30 Million)
