HARPO HYDROPOWER PROJECT<br />
The proposed scheme is identified along 2.5 km<br />
lower stretch of Harpo Nala (Lungma), a left<br />
tributary of Indus River in Rondu Area, district<br />
Skardu. The project area is located 75 km northwest<br />
of Skardu town and 670 km north-east of<br />
Islamabad.<br />

PRESENT STATUS<br />
• Feasibility report was completed by Hydro Planning Organization (<strong>WAPDA</strong>) with the<br />
technical collaboration of GTZ of Germany in February 2002.<br />
• AFD/Kfw committed to finance updation/review of feasibility study from “GRANT” in the<br />
1 st Phase and after successful review/updation of feasibility financing will be provided<br />
for Detailed Engineering Design, preparation of Tender Documents and construction of<br />
projects from “LOAN” in the 2 nd Phase.<br />
• Financing Agreement among Kfw, EAD (GoP) & <strong>WAPDA</strong> has been signed on 6 th<br />
September, 2010 for grant of 675000 Euro’s.<br />
• Consultancy Contract Agreement for Updation/Review of Feasibility Study has been<br />
signed between <strong>WAPDA</strong> and Harpo Hydropower Consultants (JV) on<br />
20-12-2010.<br />
• The consultant (JV) has been mobilized from March 01, 2011.<br />
• The Consultant (JV) has submitted the final updated Feasibility Report on 19 th<br />
December, 2011.
