LARA (Hybrid Tea Rose)
If your ideal rose is big pointed buds on tall elegant stems, then here's a beauty for you to consider,
Large porcelain like blooms perched on long stems clothed in immaculate glossy green foliage.
Makes a real statement in the garden.
Good repeat flowering and excellent disease resistance.
A superb rose for cutting that has a very pleasant liquorice fragrance and the blooms last well in
water.
Plant in full sun and dead head regularly for the best results.
Bred in the USA. 2003
Introduced into the UK 2009
LAURA (Laura Ford) (Patio Climbing Rose)
A sister to the very popular Warm Welcome and another from the Chris Warner stable who
has produced plenty of cracking little climbers in the Patio Climbing range.
Bright yellow blooms cover this bush from top to bottom and flowers through the season
and well into the autumn.
A pleasing perfume and very healthy
Highly Recommended.
collections of her work in galleries around the country including the Tate Gallery in
London.
LAWRENCE (Lawrence Of Arabia) (Hybrid Tea Rose)
A lovely award winning modern hybrid tea with very unusual coloured blooms of pink, orange and
yellow blends.
Quite a showy rose and a real eye catcher that is an excellent rose for the garden and looks
stunning in a group. Mid green healthy semi glossy foliage.
The blooms are borne singly and in clusters.
The blooms are ideal for cutting as they last well in water and fill a room with their exceptional
perfume. Flowers right through the season plus a very good show in autumn and has good disease
resistance.
A very popular rose which for some strange reason is known under numerous names.
Highly Scented.
Also known as "Samaritan" "English Sonnet" King Arthur" "Fragrant Surprise"
AWARDS
LAWRENCE (Lawrence Johnston) (Climbing Rose)
This climber bears a lavish crop of eye catching bright clear yellow open cupped blooms.
Has a super show from early summer but less in late summer and autumn, but still well
worth planting.
The flowers are quite large and scented and real show stoppers in full bloom.
Light green glossy foliage but does need a little spraying to keep it clean.
It is not for the faint hearted or small garden as it requires plenty of space and can easily
reach 20ft plus.
However it has always been a very popular rose which is probably due to its lovely perfume.
Named after Lawrence Johnston of Hidcote Manor which is now a National Trust property.
LEONARD DUDLEY BRAITHWAITE (English Rose. David Austin)
This rose has the brightest crimson colouring of all the English Roses, standing out when viewed
from across the garden.
It is related to 'Mary Rose' and has many of that rose's good garden qualities.
The flowers open wide and are slightly cupped. They are produced freely and with remarkable
continuity.
A charming Old Rose fragrance.
Named to commemorate David Austin's father in law Leonard Dudley Braithwaite.
