Country Garden Roses. Is There A Rose With Your Name On It ?
PET (Little White Pet) (Shrub Rose)
This lovely little rose has clusters of small white pom pom blooms with a pink tinge and is a real old
favourite with gardeners. Ideal for cutting for display with good disease resistance.
The blooms are complimented by lovely little glossy leaves and is an asset to any garden. A great little
rose for borders and very easy to grow. Always in flower with a pleasant scent.
Quite versatile as it can be grown in the ground or a container and is shade tolerant.
Royal Horticultural Society Award Of Garden Merit 1993
Also known as 'White Pet' 'Little Pet' 'Belle Of Tehran'
Sometimes called 'Little Dot' in New Zealand.
PETER (Peter Pan) (Patio Rose)
This compact little bush is covered in masses of dark red hybrid tea type blooms.
Always seems to be in flower and will brighten up any dull corner in the garden.
There are many blooms so spent blooms should be removed as often as possible to promote
repeat blooms and to keep the bush tidy.
Looks extremely colourful when planted in a group, and is an excellent bedding rose.
It is only a small rose so will be quite happy in a container.
The abundant foliage sets of the blooms to perfection.
One of our favourite Patio Roses. Pleasant perfume.
A healthy little rose that was bred for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Fund.
PHOEBE (Phoebe’s Frilled Pink) (Rugosa Shrub Rose)
Lovely frilly blooms of soft pink to white which are similar to carnations.
The blooms flowers throughout the
season in small attractive bunches.
Good healthy rich light green foliage and excellent disease resistance.
Like most Rugosa’s it is very versatile as it makes a good hedge, tolerant of poor soils and will
also grow in the shade.
Scented.
(Also known as ‘Rugosa Fimbriata'’
PHYLISS (Phyliss Bide) (Rambling Rose)
Small semi-double blooms of pink salmon and gold.
One of the few ramblers available that will flower right through the season and is one of our
favourite ramblers.
The buds are like small cones and are carried in wide clusters on short stems. They open into
fairly full rosette shaped blooms of modest size, in a mixture of salmon pink and yellow-gold
shades.
They are lightly scented and their neat distribution within the cluster and overall on the plant
is a pleasure to see.
It is a vigorous grower with lax arching stems, making a splendid rambler for fences, and
arches etc.
A delightful rose with good disease resistance and a pleasant perfume.
A useful rambler as it will also cope on a North wall.
Highly Recommended.
