17th century. They were imitated in the<br />

netherlands by producers of façon de<br />

Venise glass.<br />

Drawing: The process of pulling semimolten<br />

or serving vessel that is drawn out from<br />

of a whale oil lamp and held above the fuel by a metal<br />

plate larger than the aperture in the font.
