Chapter 3<br />

UCC ACTIVATION AND NOTIFICATION<br />

3.1. 27 SOFSS/CC Actions: The Commander will notify <strong>the</strong> Command Post <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> incident<br />

and stand-up <strong>the</strong> UCC.<br />

3.2. UCC Notification Process:<br />

3.2.1. Notify 27 SOSFS <strong>of</strong> emergency personnel responding from local community.<br />

3.2.2. Stand up 27 SOFSS UCC and Call AFMAO Center with all information DSN: 487-<br />

5806.<br />

3.2.3. Recall Search and Recovery teams. Brief on info that has been received on affected<br />

area and what to expect at <strong>the</strong> site.<br />

3.2.4. Determine <strong>the</strong> need for using additional checklists such as HAZMAT Response,<br />

Advanced Aerospace Materials, and National Defense Area checklists.<br />

3.2.5. Contact local coroner; make sure that no remains have left <strong>the</strong> crash site.<br />

3.2.6. Contact Transportation (x2833) for use <strong>of</strong> two passenger vans, mortuary truck, and if<br />

needed, a vehicle for transportation <strong>of</strong> remains. Contact <strong>the</strong> Dining Facility Administration<br />

Center (DFAC) for a possible meal <strong>order</strong>.<br />

3.2.7. Coordinate handling <strong>of</strong> deceased personnel through Explosive Ordinance Disposal<br />

(EOD) after area has been cleared <strong>by</strong> Safety.<br />

3.2.8. Coordinate with contract funeral homes, AFMAO, and o<strong>the</strong>r agencies as needed (NM<br />

Coroner’s Office, Sherriff’s Department).<br />

3.2.9. Prepare Data Input Message (DIM) reports for <strong>the</strong> 27 SOFSS/CC.
