It is observed that the single major item <strong>of</strong> utilisation for payment in kind in all categories<br />

was payment towards temporary labour. On all India basis, total payment in kind was 1378.14<br />

thous<strong>and</strong> tonnes. Out <strong>of</strong> this payment to temporary labour in kind accounted for 867.87<br />

thous<strong>and</strong> tonnes or 62.97 percent. The total payment in kind accounted to about 12.94 percent<br />

<strong>of</strong> total production.<br />

6.11.4 The state-wise breakup <strong>of</strong> total utilisation <strong>of</strong> jowar by all categories <strong>of</strong> cultivators taken<br />

together towards payments in kind for different items is furnished in Table No. 33 below.
