SLIM (Slim and Him, Obituaries) has listened to jazz her entire life, and has been<br />

writing reviews and observations about a life in jazz since 1985. She also creates the artwork<br />

for the CIMP label, and co-hosts the weekly radio show, “Slim & Him,” with Michael<br />

Coyle.<br />

MICHAEL STEINMAN (CD Reviews) has a thriving jazz blog -- JAZZ LIVES<br />

(www.jazzlives.wordpress.com) -- with a global audience. And he brings his video<br />

camera wherever there’s creative improvised music.<br />

kARL STOBER, (CD Reviews) Writer, broadcaster and international music critic<br />

lives and writes in Palm Springs, California.<br />

SHEILA THISTLETHWAITE (Short Takes) is a writer, editor and music publicist<br />

based in Calgary, Canada. Her articles on the arts have appeared in publications in<br />

Canada and the U.S. She has been a board member, and has worked as a publicist and as<br />

executive director for jazz festivals in Calgary, AB and Kelowna, BC.<br />

kEN WEISS (Photos, Short Takes) has been documenting the Philadelphia jazz<br />

and experimental music scene with photography since 1992 and has written the<br />

Cadence Short Takes column since 2003 as an attempt to defeat the conventional adage that,<br />

once played, the music is “lost to the air.” He has also completed numerous interviews for<br />

Cadence and Jazz Inside Magazine.<br />

JEROME WILSON (CD Reviews) is a long-time music, film, and comic strip fan who<br />

works for the Navy and lives in the Washington, DC area.<br />

BRAD WINTER (Short Takes) is a writer and visual artist and is the owner/operator<br />

of Brad Winter Picture Framing in Portland, Oregon. He was artistic director of the<br />

Creative Music Guild from 1998-2007 and remains active in promoting and documenting<br />

the improvised music scene.<br />
